If you are part of the Destiny community then you are well aware, about the recent patch, patch  2.5.0.2, which has mixed feelings from the community. Lots of people are enjoying the new patch while some have even quit the game. There is one person, Poshy, who is a competitive Destiny player, has deleted his character to show his opinions on the patch. Click here to read more about that. In the patch, several things were changed. I will be covering the major changes and my experience with the patch.

Overall I thought the patch was a good improvement on the Crucible however it still has its problems. Mainly the rise of sidearms has been very annoying since it was not affected by the special ammo nerf, when you respawn it retains all the ammo that you had before the respawn. The buff to auto rifles was nice but wasn’t significant enough for a big push on auto rifles in the new meta. Hand cannon accuracy was the thing that I was most excited for since it made hand cannons WAY more consistent. So far I am seeing a lot more primary battles, which is a good thing but too many sidearms, which is a bad thing. What I think needs to happen is they need to buff auto rifles a little bit more and make it so sidearms lose special on respawn(perk will still be in effect). What do you think Bungie should do? What are your opinions on the patch? Please leave all answers in the comment section below.

Why I still love Destiny
Even though many people say this game is dead and it sucks, I still enjoy this playing this game for the experience that I get when in a fire team with friends. When queuing in solo it can be very boring but with friends it can make the experience that much better. The game still has its flaws, mainly balancing issues and connection issues. The main thing that I personally enjoy is engaging in Crucible activities, whether it be a 6v6 mode like clash, or 3v3 mode like Trials, it’s always fun to engage in gunfights and talk about some crazy story someone has. It’s not about the game itself but rather the fun you experience when engaging in activities with your friends.
Things that could be improved:
Connection issues are the main problem in the game that needs to be improved. Many suggest switching to pure connection based matchmaking but there is an alternate option that would be much more viable, dedicated servers. With dedicated servers, we would still have the skill-based matchmaking to make the lobbies more competitive. If you are confused about what a dedicated server is then click here. Another problem is the balancing of weapons and abilities, it is very clear that some weapons outshine the others, namely hand cannons and pulse rifles, but the patch should help out a bit but not completely. I will be writing a post about the patch in the very near future.
Conclusion:
Destiny is a very fun game, but it does have its flaws. The main thing that makes this game so fun is the way that it brings people together, whether it be trying to complete the raid, going to the lighthouse, or even some regular crucible. What are your opinions on the game, please leave your answers in the comment section below.
